Default Steyr Grip Sets

Hi any one have experience of custom made Steyr Grip Sets such as those made by Gary Cane? are they worth it do they improve the ballance fit feel over the factory fitted offering or is it just a waste of money?

Your thoughts or experince much appreciated.

Ive got a GinB on my 2011 110FT as i didn't get on with the new style (very silly) hamster. I already had experience with GinB stocks so i know their quality items which is why i bought one for the Steyr. In my opinion it improves the balance and fit of the stock.

Here's mine

Garry Cane is expensive but his wood makes a big difference to the Steyr.

I have a set of Mick French woodwork on my Steyr and find it far better than the original fittings for me I have large hands that the standard sized large grip wasn't big enough to accommodate so the custom grip fits perfectly. The original cheekpiece I found interfered with my glasses when set high so the new cheekpiece with a bigger radius on the top helps with that and finally the forend was just too short so that is taken care of with a nice long custom one on risers The difference between this and my other Steyr in standard laminate is amazing, the one with custom parts is easier to shoot accurately as your not having to work around the limitations of the standard equipment Money well spent in my book

The difference can be seen in this pic

I find the custom grip set better than a full custom stock, more adjustable options

Changed mine to a Gary Cane 3 piece set a couple of months ago and its made a huge difference to the balance of my setup. Alot more comfortable,in all FT positions especially on kneelers.

Here's a pic of mine as it is now.

Thanks to all who have replied, seem's a three piece Gary Cane might be in order at some point to get the best out of my Steyr.

Thanks to Big Si for the offer of the Paul Willson Grip Set very tempting would just prefer a Gary Cane.

PaulD if you are at Tawd on Sunday might see you there.
