Default Budget

On the scope front, there are a few of us using the ZOS's without probs, you do have to be consistent with the ranging, I aways go down then back up to range and it's consistent for me then, if you chop and change then yes I agree they can be inconsistent but they are a good entry compromise and save the extra for future upgrade if and when he gets serious.

Thats exactly what I've just done, started with an S200 with a big ZOS now onto an EV2 and looking for the next scope for that.

you could increase the budget....early xmas present and go for a big nikko. 10-50 by 60...second hand face to you can check it.....or a falcon t50.
