similar to Tench but on the cross hair at 13 + 42yds.
I don't think it matters what range you zero at for me its all about getting your aim points to suit you and your scopes reticle.
The nail that sticks out gets hammered down.

Deep ends. What power is the rifle putting out, what weight of pellets are being used. On a couple of my 177 combos I zero at 32 yards because that gives the the max length of "on cross hairs" aim points, - I just have to remember a little bit of hold under at 19-22 yards.

With .22 my zero is abt 23 yard.

But there again, I'm a crappy shooter

Currently 30yds, I have tried 25/27/30/35/40. 30 yds seems to work for me.
However I will be spending a couple of days in an indoor range very soon. To reevaluate my zeroing, amongst other things I want to try out, mount height, pellet selection.

Currently on 35yds which gives me hold-under around 20 - 26yds (I used to find hold-under very strange but I'm used to it now). This brings my 13 - 40yd aim-points all around the crosshairs give or take a tad. I can't be more specific 'cos I use the Burris Ballistic-Plex ret.
