Default Bsa r10se

One of my club members bought one of these recently BSA R10SE .177 and looks a very good package brand new. That was until we tested the accuracy, 35 yards with Exact, AA field all of various sizes. Cleaned the barrel, lubed pellets not lubed pellets and the groups of the bench were awful. No matter what we done removed the silencer and shroud, put on a HW silencer terrible.
I have a very old BSA ultra that groups as well as my FTP900 @ 40 yards.
We contacted the RFD and he has sent four back and BSA are saying its bad crowning.
So buyer beware.
Jeremy

Default R10

The R10 I had preferred h+n field target trophy pellets , they grouped far better than the couple of batches of exacts I had at the time. I could get 5p groups at 50 yards off a bipod on the bench at the club.

Yes they can be made very good Phil, and that is very good by any standard! but you shouldn't have to rework a new rifle as a necessity as soon as you buy it new! It should work to an acceptable standard out of the box! But if anybody wants one sorting, no problem!

it's not the sawn- offness Ian , it's the off -centre bore.

when the narrator in the bsa video was wobbling on about special machines and methods giving accurately centred bores to within 1000's of a mm ..............he didn't say how many 1000's though did he ..........i reckon about 500 of 'em on this barrel
