Just to add... I had this issue with a Rika target system and it was the drivers at fault, but it too some determined sniffing out to find ones that worked.

Suggest as above.

I've been in touch with Robin and he's given me a couple of things to try. Silly thing is, my laptop is doing 90% of the things Robin says should happen, there just seems to be an issue with which port is available / used.

Default had the same problem but fixed it

I had the same problem, every time i clicked it it would come up with serial port not happy

spoke with robin and his IT staff at combro still nothing ( Great company to deal with)

I had originally brought a cheap serial port adapther but was c~~p

then got another serial cable this one:

Prolific PL-2303 HXD USB to RS-232 Serial Adaptor - Compatible Windows 10 / Ten

it comes with a install disk as well and now all working

good luck

OK. I think I have cracked it.

I had already been through the exact process Joha sent the link to, but then realised that Robin had told me something critical, that the device manager 'sees' the adaptor cable and allocates a Com port, this information is then requested by the Combro software.

So, while in device manager I plugged in just the serial / USB adaptor cable, sure enough it appeared in the list and was allocated Com3. I then plugged the Combro cable into the serial adaptor cable and then the cb-625 into the combro cable... and it all works.

So it looks like the order in which the hardware is plugged in makes a difference.

Of course, I now have to get it to work a second time.

Well Neil, I wonder if you can help me??

I have the combro too. But I run a Mac. So I have a USB-Serial cable bought from eBay..... the one recommended on here. I am running the ToxicCelery software which allows you to run the combo on a mac and I have the latest drivers for my Op system, The software sees the cable so I know the drivers are working... If I pull the cable out the drop down menu that indicates the port being used disappears ... so all seems okay.... but no response when shooting through the combro.

I am using the "snd" command on the combro.... does anyone else use this to test there output ? Does it actually work when trying to test the combro??

HELP

Stuart

Sorry Stuart I don't think I can help you as I have not tried the Combro with my Mac.

Have you e-mailed Combro? Robin is pretty good.

Failing that, you'll have to wait for a clever person to see this thread.

The Combro software works fine with Windows 10, that's what I'm using.
