Default Regulator for S400

Hi guys!
I have several friends that are considering installing regulators on their AA S400 that are adjusted for 16J/12fp.
From your experience what regulators should they install?

Dont diy a reg, you will be forever fiddling to get it right.

Easier way to get consistency from and s400 is to degrease and polish hammer rail then either shim the hammer spring or fit a new hammer spring that is approx 25% stronger then bring the velocity back down using the venturi screw. Stronger spring/ more preload will bring the working range off the fireing valve higher up to around 160/170 bar. If you fit an fac air cylinder you can easly get over 100 shots withing a 12-15fps spread with pellets straight from the tin.

I'll second that, I have had my S400 fitted with a Tench Reg. over 6 years and can honestly say it has never missed a beat. I get odd looks when I tell people I get 120 shots from a .22 S400 carbine all within 7fps. but its true.
Lots of choices, lots of experts but Simon is the only man I would give my gun to.
John
