Default Fixing scope focus

I just used my Delta HFT scope at Furnace Mill for the first time today on my Steyr HFT in combination with an Aim drag bag. I have a Butler Creek flip-open objective lens cover, which is great, but I found that my focus was shifting as the cover made contact with the bag and had to be reset to 25m on multiple occasions. Obviously, I don't want to appear to be adjusting my scope during a competition, but once it's moved what choice do I have?
Ideally I would like to semi-permanently fix the scope at 25m, but don't know how. I have considered using some heat-shrink tubing or maybe a rubber sleeve, but would welcome any input.
Cheers, Des

I'd go with Rich's suggestion - black electricians tape, job done.
