Power is set low 770's and a full chrono string stays in the 770's before losing around 3-4 fps each shot after coming off the reg. I think I had around 120 shots from a 200 bar fill. I open the transfer port all the way out, set power on hammer at 785 and then bring the transfer port in to land in the low 770's. I don't need to run much hammer.

Tommy the EV does have quite a long smallish dia transfer port so it should handle a bit more reg pressure without spiking. Run the reg as high as you can without it spiking, this will reduce air used per shot too which might reduce the flip a bit? A smidge more hammer stroke helps too when you have more pressure behind the valve.

That stock is looking fab!

Ok ,got an hour to play with it this afternoon.

Emptied it of air.
Unscrewed the cylinder
Where's the reg??? Still inside the cylinder..... I had to use a long m3 bolt to pull it out the cylinder, the reg is seperate from the housing that fixes it to the action.
Very easy to up the reg pressure to 110. Unscrew the end a smidge just past the 110ark and back down onto it.to remove backlash in the thread.
Once fitted the difference was immediately noticeable.
The firing cycle was quieter. And less pingy.
I had to back off the hammer about 2.5 turns .
It was abit of a faf to get it where I wanted it.but iam not hugely competent in this stuff yet.
Anyhow I've got it roughly where I want it.
Using the same pellets as yesterday the increased reg pressure has reduced the muzzle flip substatially. And pulled the groups in tight too.

It feels a different gun today!
So far so good.

Shoot it over the chrono as it comes off the reg Tommy to make sure it is not spiking. A rise of a couple of fps can be controlled by restricting the port a little and getting the velocity back up with the hammer, any more than that and should knock the reg back a few bar.

Il check it over the weekend mate, it feels so different with the increased reg pressure. I reckon it will do about 90 shots to a 200 bar fill too. So pretty good for a small cylinder.

Need to get a scope sorted for it now though. ...

I have an idea Dean, you do everything to the ev2 that Tom's done once sorted then I'll buy it back off you? If I'd kept it I'd have carbined it anyway!

That sounds like a good deal mate.

It could be the ultimate HFT gun especially with a nice baby Leup on.

Hopefully I will get some more time over the weekend to play about with it mate.
I got me bottle filled now so can do some more on the chrono.

Oh finally measured the barrel it's 13.5" now.

With my vortex viper on it , it feels very well balanced not heavy atall. And doesn't feel top heavy like it did at full length.

I'm building this one as my new hft rig.
There's a few things I've picked up along the way that may be helpful. ...
I've always entrusted my tame gunsmith(tench), with my toys but seeing as we're are about 4.5 hours away from each other ,i though it best that I build the gun to be as easily serviced and looked after with only basic tools and even more basic knowledge.

The first step was to fit an s400 carbine cylinder (straight swap)
Swapped out the tbar fill valve for foster qf fitting .
The barrel is going to be shortened to around the 14" mark.
I wanted to keep to a laminate stock so removed a fair bit of wood from inside the inlet .the cheek posts are titanium . I have previously used carbon ,so it's a bit of an experiment .
The biggest hurdle for me was going to be the standard regulator. Increasing the pressure a bit ,for the shorter barrel I certainly couldn't do.
As it happens huma have just released an ev2 specific reg. These are very easily adjusted for output pressure and have proven to be pretty good for the money. So I've got one of the first.
I had too lose the gauge and spirit level but that's really not a problem. Also shaves a tad off the weight.
Il be honest I'd have prefered one of Simons regs as I've had such good performance from them from the very early days, but weel see how this one goes.
It's nowhere near finished as yet and will likely be along time in the making . Once the barrel is back I will. Weigh it all up,but it certainly feels good and alot lighter so far.
Cheers guys!
Any update on the HUma Reg Tilly??

cheers

stuart
