Furnace Mill 2015 Rose Bowl Final results 27/12/15
Furnace Mill Rose Bowl 2015 Final.
Another good turnout despite the dower weather and everywhere being waterlogged.
A very big thank you to everyone that has been involved with this monthly open competition over the last year.
Thank you to Ian Hunter for allowing us to use his formula for the results table.
Jane and I have been running Furnace Mill HFT for 9 years now and today we took part in our first competition In fact it was my first block of more than 6 targets that I have ever shot in one go, bonkers really after setting hundreds of courses.
It is safe to say that shooting Centre fire rifles is a lot easier, which is probably a good thing as part of my job is a professional hunter. If I shot like I did today I think that I would get the sack.
Massive congratulations to Darrin Lynn who started the day as Champion of the inaugural Rose Bowl competition and proved why with an impressive 58 to win today too.
Stu James took second with 57 and then there were three on 56, Phil Tombs, Dave Hunter and Dan McMahon. Well done guys, great scores.

Well done Ed and Jane for a great series, and well done to Darrin for the top spot.
See you tuesday for the extreme.
During the past year I have enjoyed the pleasure of meeting and making many new friends during the course of the Rosebowl competition. Ed and Jane have set very high standards in organizing running and administering the years event and I'm sure that 2016 will continue to be THE league to be involved in. Thanks to all my partners over the year. Can't wait to get started again
Happy new year to all

well done Darrin.
so sorry I missed today I was a tad ill last night, we went the in-laws for dinner & tea & I had too many fart bombs..... i.e. sprouts me thinks .
I have to say the rounds that I have done have been great & with in all most 6 years of me being a member of furnace mill, the place just keeps on getting better & better.
it would have been nice to see both ed & jane shoot, maybe next time.
My rifles are =
PCP: Steyr lg110 hft 2014, HW100 SK ( back up & rainy day rifle )
Springer's: HW77 ( 1980's version ), HW35 KLS.
Must admit 12 months on from joining Furnace Mill Matt and I have had some great days, met some great people who are good friends I feel. Learnt a little about HFT, gone through thousands on guns and scopes all for a great hobby. Scores go up and down like a yo yo. The shoots get better and better each time making it enjoyable. Gratitude to Jane and Ed for investing in a great facility which will no doubt be the best in the UK. The friendly banter both at the club and on the forums makes me smile where else could you find this after all were shooting metal rats lying in mud !
Congratulations to Darrin on his series win and thanks has to go to the course setters and organisation at the shoots.
Heres to next year !
