Default Pro target top sear

Hi guys just a quick one I'm in the process of changing the top sear on my pro target and the new one is very tight fitting onto the post to keep it into position I don't know if it is supposed to be like this but the old one just slid off and if it is what is best way of getting it into position thanks guys
