Default Help with Pro Target

I have an AA Pro Target MKIII, FPS consistency amazing, point of impact not so much. Could some one please tell me why that without air stripper / muzzle brake thingy pellets go wherever I point the thing but as soon as it goes back on they create a shotgun pattern, I have checked the muzzle brake for signs of pellet strike and non is apparent. The brake is standard AA with a double row of vents on opposing sides and don't know whether these should vent to either side or top and bottom. Also one last thing I could shoot with it fitted, but to be honest it looks an a**e without it. Sorry for the long post, any suggestions gratefully received.

Air stripper not in correct place. Try moving it closer to barrel or away.
I once fitted Zaks Ev2 air stripper slightly at an angle and it turned a very accurate Ev2 into a shotgun.
So bubble on now flat air stripper and it was fly squatter again.

Then I handed it back to Zak and it was shotgun !!

Give it to mark to have a look at if you don't now what you are doing.

Mine had a similar problem and found that the plastic insert in the end of the stripper was slightly loose and actually came out during a session. Not 100% sure this was causing my problem but it won't help and worth checking.

I now shoot without the stripper and when I get time I am just going to have something made to fit on the barrel end for aesthetics only.

If its the original pro target stripper, it can only fit in one positition, also it was all alloy( so there should not be a plastic insert?).
as for the groups opening up....... if its fine without it but then opens up when it put on?, then it can only be the muzzle break( its not an air stripper).
Try one from rowen there pretty nice and tidy up the muzzle nicely.

I agree with all of the above you have to have patience and move the gap distance a micro amount at a time and then try a group of ten after each correction also ensure that the threaded part is exactly square on the muzzel as that will also give you a shotgun effect if not
Good luck

Interesting, I thought mine was an original muzzle brake.

Does anyone have a photo of the original?

Default rowan stripper

Hi boys an girls

I swapped my standard muzzel brake on my ev2 bout 3 years ago for a rowan one an found it realy good but it made the end very active an took me about 3-6 months to set the cone in best position for groups but if you keep the standard muzzel brake on an put the time in to get it in the right place then i think they are better because the gun is totally dead to shoot an a nicer feel to it

The Op was asking about the muzzle break on the Pro-Target Mk3 later named the Pro-Target FT , not the EV2's.
This is the ad for the Mk 3 which had the barrel floated by AA ( Due to public demand) and shows the AA fitted muzzle break.
