Hitting the same point on the wheel when ranging with a comp can be difficult, especially when learning how to use one. Perhaps a bigger wheel exaggerates the users inability to hit the same point on the wheel when ranging a target multiple times. Using a smaller wheel, with smaller gaps, means you range closer to the same mark each time and so perhaps people think that it's made the scope snappier?
