ive had the 40x comp for about 6 months now and i am close to being at one with it. Firstly providing you can undo the locking ring you can reparralx it to 10yds which also has the advantage of improving the distinction between ranges at the 50 and 55yd range.
Ive had a very small side wheel fitted as the gaps are huge between the ranges so a big wheel is not required. The scope takes some learning and rocking it back and forth is NOT the technique. like others i have found that moving slowly but consistently from near to far and focusing on something like a reset string rather than faceplate will yield the best and most consistent results.
ive found the scope to be solid, temperature stable and very reliable. on the downside i have the fine cross hair with target dot and this can get lost in dark target / light conditions. i will end up changing the ret for sure.

Default Turret adjustment

1. Seems there are gripes about the Torx screws and resetting the zero. Has to be done just right or the turret spins but doesn't click or vice versa. Any tips for adjusting and setting the turrets properly? Some people apparently remove some kind of spring too??

Hello,
Same problem with Casey. After zeroing the scope I removed elevation turret for re-set but I didn't mount again.Any tips, advice?

Thanks[/QUOTE]

You need to zero the scope at your preferred range , then grip the turret why you undo the torx screw a little. The turret will rise on the spring and you should be able to rotate until it is on the "0" then press it down and do up the torx bit.
They are a bit fiddly to be fair.
Under the turret is a large wayvey Spring that some choose to remove but it not essential .

How much have you removed ?
You could always remove the side to see how it comes apart , maybe a picture of what you have may help.
