Default how to measure for a custom stock

Hi I was wondering how you get measured for a custom stock.
Like the trigger pull or the length of the but I honestly have no clue.
I just want to get the best fitting rifle I can get.
I'm going for a Ginb ft no 1 so I'm wanting to get it right first time.
