Default Buying new- big nikko

Can anyone reccomend the best place to buy a good new big nikko from? Looked at a used one yesterday and i like the way it snaps in and out of focus. Seems that it will be the best scope for me to use as a beginner. Are there any pros/cons from using a mk2/mk3 nikko?

I would make sure you buy one where you actually have it in your hands and have a very good look through it and check the parallax mechanism very carefully for consistency and smoothness as well as ensuring it performs optically like the ones you have tried.

I had a bad experience buying one online, from one of the best known retailers .The scope I got was faulty (sloppy/clunky parallax). Long story short - I sent it back the day after I got it, with the promise of an exchange, about 6 weeks later nothing had happened: not even a phone call. This was despite the supplier acknowledging, when I phoned them after they'd received it back, that it was faulty. The dispute was finally sorted out by my credit card company but it has made me very wary.
I would like to agree with you but then we'd both be wrong....
