Default Ripley AR4

Hello, i have been trying to source some info on this rifle but not had much luck, i have been offered one and would like to know the following

when was the ar4 made? this one is marked 44

what are the regs like? reliable?

how many shots from a full charge?

what would be a good price for a ar4 .177 in good condition?

the action on the one is question is 27" im guessing this is standard length and not the K version?

i have emailed ripley but have not heard anything back yet so thought id try my luck here

thanks
chief

Hi

My old AR4 is serial no.34 (i think) and that was made in 1992, nearly 20 years ago So I guess 44 is roughly the same time.

Shots per charge? Lots.

The other stuff I can't really help with

James

Hi,
My AR4 is Serial No.50,made in June 1993.As far as I'm aware it was one of the last of the steel ones they made.
It has the 17" barrel and I get 80+ shots from a 200 bar fill.
If you can check to see if it has a Ripley reg. or has it been changed, a lot were over the years.
If you do aquire it ,well worth sending it back to Ripley for a service at about 150,might be something to think about when haggling over the purchase price?
regards

Hi,
First year after I retired for my birthday my wife bought me a lurcher, second year I took up F.T. shooting and she bought me the Ar4 (second hand) Now many years on I still have both.
Only problems I had with the Ar4 was when the reg. failed, turned out it was not the original ,Ripley replaced it,no further problems.
If you've got this far go for it ,bit like Marmite, but if you don't like it ,you can always sell on.
O yes I've also got an Ar5s.
regards
