Default Woodend Winter League

Thanks to Justin and Daniel who run Woodend Farm complex for allowing the MFTA to hold round eight of the Winter League there today. The course this year was very different to previous years and well away from the fishing ponds. A long firing line with several changes of angle and changeable gradients on shots. Thought the course was set out again for an even mix of easy to hard target placement and something for every grade.
Overall I didn`t cop too many complaints so I suppose you all enjoyed the shoot.

A big special thank you to: John Sears, Jim Nee, Kev Sayers, Deborah Clarke, Alan Jackson, Dave Killen and our Sam..... To you all thanks.

75 shooters attended the shoot today.

Golden shot winners: 1st Sue Swift 2nd Steve Lloyd 3rd John Waterfield

Top scorer today was Grumps himself on a 39.

Top A grade was Tony Johnson on a 38

Top B grade was Gary Martin / Terry Southern on a 34

Top C grade was Sue Swift on a 37

Top Piston was Nick Murphy on a 33

Top silhouette was Chris Large on a 16

Shooter of the day would have to be Sue Swift on an impressive 37. She is probably the most improved shooter in the MFTA too, closely followed by Pete Rowley. So big well done Sue and Pete.

See you all at Purley for round nine.

Gilly.

thanks to all involved. had a great shoot with john today, remembered his name thats a first. well done sue super result. if anyone tells you the skys the limit, tell them your a space cadet and are aiming higher than that. your pellets were in zero gravity today. golden bunny too, double bubble.
as stated the course was a little different today, i prefer the around the ponds route, but enjoyed it all the same.
congratulations once again to all involved, from the administration side, to the marshalls and lof course the competitors.

Well done to all who were, in whatever manner, responsible for ensuring that today's shoot went ahead.
Particular thanks to Andy for the work you put in to make it happen.
An interesting terrain. I saw two mountain goats and I'm sure that I heard someone yodeling; though it might have been someone who slipped in the kneeler on lane 15, It certainly wasn't Julie Andrews.

And, to make a perfect day complete, I have a picture of the 2012 world champ head and shoulders above the 2006 world champ. That'll bring a smile to his face.

Here's the photo. Doesn't he look, justifiably, pleased with himself

A good day for both of them. And a pleasure to see them going round together
