Thank you all for your support, yesterday was a tough call but after last night’s rain on top of what we had already and after talking to Pete Sparks I am convinced it was the right decision. As most of you know W.A.R. is situated on a hill so a certain amount of walking up and down hill is involved. The course would have be set out shooting from a 12ft grass path in a horse shoe shape which would of turned very quickly into a mud bath after 10 to 20 people had walked over it making it very slippery and dangerous. In some parts water was bubbling up out of the ground and running down the grass path like a river, I have never seen anything like this in July before, the ground was in better condition back in the winter. Ian Sheppard and I went up there this morning to put a plan B together ready for 12th August just in case the weather does not get any better, it was just too wet, it would have very quickly resembled the Somme and we would have been no further forward. Safety and the welfare of my fellow shooters was my main concern so it was not only the right call it was the only call Pete and I could make yesterday. Sorry for any inconvenience and hope to see you all on the 12th August.
