I have found wether i use a large bag or a "standard" one, its about the same level of support under the ankle and the weight is taken off the rear foot, this equals a much steadier shot.
However, I have found the larger bag a hinderance in that it is sometimes too big and can unbalance you, if you get its position wrong. not something that appeals on the clock.
