No, the turret is removable so you can reset the markings to zero (once zeroed)
You'll see a brass nob with a slot in the top, the turret sits on this and turns it when the grub screws are done up.
Nothing will ping out or get in.
When you've fully backed off the three grub screws, you will probably have to give the turret a decent tug to remove it, because it will be tight on the seal thats causing the problem.
