If so, surely using an adapted position does exactly that. If by using a different position, you improve the accuracy of your "standers" for example, then you have gained an advantage from using that position. This being the case, the positions themselves are actually against BFTA rules
The whole sentence is:
This latitude must not give neither advantage nor disadvantage to the shooter, but enable the person to compete on reasonably equal terms with the rest of the contestants.
So, the intention of the alternative positions giving neither an advantage or disadvantage is in relation to the other contestants.
