I don't think it's fair or productive to question a chief marshall's decision after the fact. We abide by their decision as being final, they're volunteers, and to date no CM, from any region, has reversed or changed the status quo on these positional shots. The problem is the rules do not give enough detail to the decision making process, probably because they were never conceived to deal with a situation which exists now where there appears to be advantage gained from an apparent lack of disability, which is only shown on paper, which the CM feels either not qualified or protected enough to refuse.
The additional threat of legal action which has been voiced by one shooter only adds to the anti.
