I first 'slipped' a disc at the age of 21, by the age of 34, after several motorbike crashes I needed two discs removing and a spinal fusion along with a metal cage around my spine. This unfortunately put pay to any more FT as I was unable to take seated shots. I'm sure that modern day techniques mean less invasive surgery and less likelihood of restricted movement. Should the worse happen, you can like me, elevate yourself to the pinnacle of competitive shooting and take up HFT, a pastime that I regularly enjoy 30 years after my operation, and on occasion am quite successful at.
Best wishes to you during your treatment and recuperation, my only advise is make sure they give you the same pain-killers to take home as you have in hospital, switching from morphine to paracetamol wasn't funny.
