Just a tip then Pete, get it glossed.
It brings out the colours / "pattern -grain" much better and improves the look greatly, certainly has on mine.
However, the main advantage is protection.
I was really disapointed in my satin finish showing scratches withing a couple of months despite always being very carefull with the stock, as you would having paid £750 for it!
despite my best efforts the stock marked far too easily for my liking before it was glossed.
as for what holly says you should find improvement if the stock is right for you, but it may take a few shoots to fully get to grips with hold etc.
