We've got a set of silhouettes at our club but we don't shoot to the sils rules, we have the four racks mounted on one frame and placed at 25 yards. Then each person has ten shots only, and the rams are worth 1 point, the chickens are worth 7 points, and the pigs and turkeys are 3 and 5.
It's up to you how you choose to use your ten pellets. Ten rams is ten points in the bag, OK, but not very competitive. Just two chickens will net you 14. In between these extremes there are countless combinations.
Can I ask those who shoot sils at GPs etc, do you have to use your FT rig or could you use any combo you like? After all, if the racks are at known distances you don't need a rangefinding scope.
