Yes, close focus adapters do work out very well for the very short distances, 6-10 meters.
Most use the Leupold 50ft adapter, which is 40mm in diameter.
You can opt to mount it inside a scope cover (butler creek or Nikko Diamond), this way you can place it easily for the scope. Just make a concersion table what distance with lens corresponds with the normal sidewheel distances.
Personally i only rangefind with it, after that I take it away from the scope , turn magnification to 10x and use mildots holdover. With cfa in place the reticle may shift a little sometimes.
