You could surely only have an accurate figure for a particular gun. As you say the velocity could vary but so could anything else within the "Lock time" sequence. If enough of the same model gun was used you would have a decent average time though. It's that short that practically it wouldn't make any difference.

I think it's been first class work that's been done in an area that's often quoted but with very few facts to back anything up. We now have some meat to put on the "Lock time" bones.
