It's easier to visualise that way, than working in minutes of arc.
If I said you wobbled one minute of arc, how many folk would know instantly what that meant. But to think about a wobble being a kill zone width either side, makes it easier.
In truth of course it is the angle subtended between extremes of wobble that matters, and my simple example related that to a known target range.
