Maybe I'm just sad but I love this kind of thread. And it supports something I've been saying for a few years: that lock time is something of a red herring. An improvement of a couple of ms might help but not to the degree people might think.
The fact that the Steyr results are very close to what Steyr have quoted, and the springer results are also very close to those published by the late Cardew, gives a good "sanity check" for the accuracy of the results.
I'd like to see more springer results and whether they were from standard or tuned actions.
Andras, I'm happy to bring 2 or 3 rifles along if I'm there next time you're taking measurements.
