A Dealer/manufacturer would have more clout/knowledge to get this done, import/export permits arranged, and a dealer/agent at the other end arranged to hand them out and collect them afterwards and ship them home again.
I think with the new rules around excess baggage that came in after 2009 Worlds, it would be more cost efficient to do without your rifle a few weeks and send it over in advance than try to take it with you personally.
I'd like to hear what main sponsor Companies might be able to do in this regard in the future......they have the clout and the experience in shipping the things.

If a sponsor was willing to pay, then all good, but I suspect to ship and ensure several FT rigs would cost a damned lot more than the excess charges. One of the more costly problems is the packaging, which for freight aren't always as simple as just a lockable box. Add the expense of the kit, and the type and i reckon you could be looking at some major expense.
Overland might be a lot easier, but suspect the paperwork could be just as bad. The only legal route i found across europe was via a TIR courier.
