I only weigh enough for a comp each time and with Mossies (7.9) I keep all in the 7.8 - 8.0 for comp, and the rest for plinking, occasionally you see a very light or very heavy but on the whole I reject more because of deformations or nicks than weight, even then its barely 20 from a tin on average.

I did some bench tests with exact and express batching in .1 grain increments then shot the heaviest and lightest back to back, in all honesty it made no real difference even between 8.3 and 8.7 g at 50yds vertical spread of the group was barely different from the group shot with 8.4, and even then I could not get consistent results every time because the breeze varied the groups more than the weights did.

So I came to the conclusion its peace of mind rather than any real technical advantage as even with the same weight FPS varies with all rifles!
