there is the North oxon 50 shot ft comp this sunday, not sure if its a bit far for you but would be a good place to see different Ft rigs and maybe try some.
Perhaps you could tie up with Woddy, who is generally a top bloke.
What is your budget?
Think £400 - £1000+ for a gun, and about £250 (Big nikko / Big Bsa) - £2500 (March) for scope to start and be competative. thats Ft.
Scopes for Hft can be cheaper, i use a hawke Sr6 £90, but i am told that there are alot of luepolds coming into Hft now and these are £600+ ?
