Thats something i dont agree with fully.
A tighter group means your pellet should go where you want it to go, so less channce of high + low hits + splits.
in comps, where targets fall over we dont always know where a pellet went in. Sometimes its a "lucky" shot just inside or off an edge when the wind is not judged / guessed correctly.
A gun that does not group tght may see a peelet strike the plate at say 10 / 11 oclock, as apposed to sneaking inside 9.
Smaller kills show this more than the 40 ml ones.
