Anyway, good day out at Purley gun performance wise. Shame Pilot performnce was not quite up to it.
Had negative discharge on the 1st stander, went for thumbhole position on stock instead of outside thumb. Quite concerning in one way as i was clear over the top of the target and the pellet flew off to the golf course!
So, lesson from that, either get a warm glove to keep right hand warm or get some of those gel hand warmers. My trigger finger had become cold enough that i could not sense it was on the trigger, really took me by surprise when it went off.
Missed the long one about 2 lanes after that, estimated range as 50 yards, set 45 m and peeked. seemed clear enough so just dialed for about 51 yards. Thing is target most rreckoned was 53/54, so went low! re- dialed and had it 47 m.
Missed the long one up the tail end of the course, the one where lots of people decided to take the shorter 20+ target kneelijg to avoid shooting the bank. I took it kneeling too. On the fairly steep slope however i could not really get 100% comfy for the long sitting shot and perhaps was not thinking about it enough? Gave it 53 yards so dont think went low, went 3 oclock and think the wind took me right ovedr to left?
Still , the serious diet starts March 1st and by Bfta champs i hope to have lost 2 stone, so will only be 18 stone then
