But part of Ft has always been range finding.
Exactly the point, more cost effective scopes would be in the running, opening the sport up to more shooters. All sports are developed and inproved by keeping pace with progress, Just look at F1. Where would Cricket be today without bein brought into the 21st centuary.

Why not try a Lazer class in addition to SFT, I would bet the scores would be no better. afI would say the bigest skill in FT is the wind and accurate bullet drops for reducers and decent positionals shooting.
