Maybe spend a morning with basics like don't point it at your buddy.
Then a coarse set out with short,medium, and a couple of long one's.
Maybe even make it a competition with trophy for the winner.
If this only get's 1 or 2 interested that will mean parents as well maybe shooting rather than watching.
Plus it may mean 1 less accident in the paper if we wise up a few kids.

Only rub I can see is the issue of risk assesments and possible need for CRB checks, issues that the scout association would be able to advise on.
