To the question a/
With my supporting method the barrel is totally immune to any force which come from heat expansion, pressure change or anything else. It moves if needed, but always together with the scope so the POI stays the same.

To the question b/
Of course the barrel harmonics will change but the barrel will be shorter with 10-12 cm so they don't affect anything so much, and they can be fine tuned if somebody needs this necessary. As I've mentioned, the barrel really begins more likely after the second support, that short part between the supports is many times stiff so we don't really have to care about it.
