I use mildots for FT and hunting/pest control, there are a few pro's and con's;

Holdover is quicker than dialling which is handy in the showdowns.
The difference between one aiming point and another at 55 yards is only one pellet's width.
Dialling is fractionally more accurate (if your groups are one pellet sized holes at 55 yards)
Also, using the horizontal line for windage could be an advantage to diallers.
I don't like the idea of moving the delicate little cross hairs up and down all day, scopes have never been designed to do this. But as already stated, each to his own
