I think it's all good. If people only have one they don't need to think of another

I think the main theme is that if people shoot one format, they don't have the time, resources or money to commit to another.

Reading between the lines, it would appear that FT has a higher/steeper learning curve, kit requirement or resource/knowledge demand, ie it's easier for a shooter to come straight from the plinking range and compete on a perceived equal basis with those that do it regularly.
