If you're new to airgunning then you're probably not yet a member of a club. Do a search on here for clubs near to you, make contact with them and find one that has a qualified club instructor. They will have taken a 2 day course run by the NSRA and sometimes fronted by the BFTA, and they should be able to help you with the required techniques for standing shots.
Personally I'm not big in the upper body strength department and I will get my pension later this year.
I find a rifle that is heavy enough for stability at FT is actually hard work with standers. I can shoot standing groups with my S410 carbine probably not much more than half the size I would shoot with the EV2.
