Some people are simply more noise sensitive than others and I prefer to do what I can to prevent future hearing degradation. Also bear in mind the fact that hundreds of shots are fired by me and my shooting buddies each session when training or competing, also that many match rifles have compensators that direct the sound back to the shooter and to shooting neighbors. Even if a shot taken by itself may not seem "too loud", it is the total exposure that matters.
