It wasn't an example, it was a question to illustrate how many shooters in a category would it need before it's a representative benchmark.
I think it's easy to agree that 1 shooter wouldn't be a good benchmark because they'd score 100% regardless of their score.
The question is - If 1 is too few, How many shooters does it take for a reasonable sample size? is it 2, 3, 5, 50 ?
That's the reason behind the score being taken from the top score out of everyone on the day, because the sample size is large enough that if a few of the top shots have a bad day, there's always someone to step up to the mark to give a representative benchmark.
