Which is precisely why I bought my Anschutz, when the plates are beat up and you don't see where the pellet strikes being able to follow it in flight helps with knowing what happened when you miss. I agree there is no benefit to accuracy but a stabiliser will help you put more points on your card.
As to whether a .22 will require a different setting to a .177 at the same muzzle energy, logic says they should be the same regarding balancing the lead's energy.
