Coming from the North using the M1
Leave the M1 at Junction 39, taking the 3rd exit and following the signs for 'A636' (Denby Dale Road). Follow this road for around 2.5 miles and you will come to a roundabout - take the third exit from this roundabout 'A637'. You will approach the Black Bull Pub on your left just before a sharp left hand bend - turn right at the bend onto Stocksmoor Road. After about 1/4 mile you will see a sign for Earnshaws Fencing on the left - take the right turn opposite onto South Lane. Follow this road round the left bend and after 50 yds just past a parking area, on the right you will see a sign for EMLEY MOOR FTC (high on the lampost) indicating to turn down the track to the site.
Coming from the South using the M1
Leaving the M1 at Junction 38, take the second exit and follow the signs for 'A637 Huddersfield'. As you travel along this road you will come to a small roundabout, just continue straight ahead.
Having driven through West Bretton village you will come to a large roundabout, again go straight ahead "A637". Registration and day to day operation
Each day shooting will start at around 9am and you need to be on site and registered by 8.45 am. Try to be there 8am to allow you some time for zeroing and practice. There will be a list of names and numbers near the statistics cabin please look up your number and enter the stats cabin and announce your number you will be given your score cards for the day there will be 3 squads named red green and blue. Throughout the day two squads will be shooting ie RED Squad may be shooting the main course, GREEN shooting the silhouettes and BLUE not shooting. We then rotate through the day till all squads have shot the main course and the silhouettes. The rota and time schedule will posted near the stats cabin. As soon have you have finished any session please hand in the completed score card to the stats cabin.
On Sunday we may try and move the day along faster so that all scores can be calculated shoot offs can take place and the presentation can begin so the schedule may say your shooting 12 pm but be prepared to be ready too go early than this.
You score your partner on the main course and also on the silhouettes so when your partner is called to shoot the silhouettes you enter the silhouette range with them and exit with them.
For the silhouettes you can be awarded pin badges if you clear a bank of 5 of any animal or 10 you can obtain the relevant badge when you hand your cards in with stats there is also the Duck Badge awarded for missing all five targets in a bank at a time These badges are £3 each there is also a 20 badge so if you clear the chickens pigs turkeys or rams Saturday and Sunday you can also obtain this badge Sunday evening the presentation This badge is £5.00 please pay at stats on Sunday well before the presentation and prize giving will take place there is also a huge raffle we always try and ensure everyone goes away with something. .
