Darren, if you have big gaps at 45 -55 it needs re paralaxing. Try to end up with about 5 mm gaps for 45 /50 /55.
My comps and most I have seen done by P.J.Engineering work best with close focus around 9.5 to 10.5 yards.
You can then get quite a good amount of "Snap" in a comp and it will be far more consistent range finding.
Also check you have no play /Rocking motion when you hold the wheel at 3 & 9 edge.
