The 10.3gn JSB heavy in a 15.5" twist barrel rose a little on a left to right wind but dropped a lot on the same wind when shooting the other way (right to left) The wind had to be up into double figures before it produced this effect. The drop was considerably more than the rise too as it has gravity assisting it. The same pellet in a slower 1:19" barrel didnt do this, nor did a lighter pellet in the fast barrel, well not to a noticeable extent.
What pellet and twist rate have you experienced it with Kev?
That could be why the .22LR boys and girls profess to see it, and we don't. They're shooting around the 1000-1100 fps mark, and with a much heavier slug, but if it was spin rate you'd expect to see it more on say an 7.9 or 7.3 than a 10.3...
The JSB heavy is quite a comparatively flat sided pellet, and so is a .22LR slug as well. Perhaps it's the shape that's a contributary issue.
