The trend i'm seeing at the moment is that a mega batch seems to be mega in approximately 8 out of 10 barrels and the barrels it doesn't still seem to put in a good performance.
I think I can add to this slightly.
When I bought a fairly large amount of a certain AA die 9 that I had found grouped very well in both of my MPR's, it was only about a month before I had the chance to buy the Steyr I now use. I suddenly realised that I had a large amount of cash sitting in pellets that actually might not group or shoot well in the Steyr, but guess what? It loved them.
Maybe a good batch will not suit every barrel, but it should suit most if that is anything to go by.
There will be differences though due to choke types and twist rates and bore diameters I would think.
