The C series don't require thermal curing, and aren't as indestructable as the H-series, but still much tougher than any paint/anodizing/powdercoat.

Normal prep requires immersion in a degreaser, so once again the adhesive used may be an issue. It might be best to disassemble, get it H-series coated and rebond it.
Cerakote is the way, a load of colour options. I'm not sure who does it on here, but RichardH on the BBS (if you can get hold of him) may be able to help.
