I believe the NSRA and NSA use a 30 degree rule, so HFT is more generous, all be it with long range shooting you are going strait out in front of you and so is everyone else.
I've experienced the same at 300yds on Century and it's weird how those rounds which are in reality fifty yards away and 20 odd feet up feel like they're just passing over your head...
