Ah well now then... When I bought the targets for Doncaster Airgun Range, I did specifically go for non animal shaped ones for that very reason.
But that doesn't mean I have to like it. Mexican/American Silhouettes is an international sport - so those are still animal shaped and the soon to be released electronic RAT Attack game I'm developing will have rat shaped targets too. If we get scouts out who are offended by animal shapes I can always remove the few animal shapes we have.
That's all easy enough to do when you're starting from scratch, but suggesting that existing clubs with thousands invested in targets already should replace them in an attempt to make the sport look better is not cost effective.
By that I mean, the assumption of the possible benefit doesn't outweigh the hefty cost.
